This is not the kind of day where you think to yourself, "Boy, a nice cold beer would be refreshing right about now." No siree.
Like all the other changes that happen when the days get short and the sun rides low in the sky, beverage choices change too. This season calls for:
- Hot mulled wine
- Hot spiced cider (perhaps with a little Captain Morgan's? )
- Peppermint Patties
- Hot buttered rum (is that a hot toddy?)
- Jack on the rocks (pure antifreeze)

We love GROG! Hot water and rum! Add a little sugar to taste. All we've been having is Margaritas and Pina Coladas though! :-)))
Dirty martini, a good scotch, coffee with whiskey... or all three...
OK so please forgive me for plugging one of my websites, but I have a really great hot buttered rum mix on my Cruising Comforts site. Not only is it wonderful with rum, but I've found it works great in oatmeal, in muffins, or whatever else your imagination can conjure up. Let me know how you like it - it's a staple on our boat!

No forgiveness needed... I asked for favorites...
Thanks!

Now, coffee with whiskey has got me thinking...

If all you've been having is margaritas and pina coladas, then winter has not seeped into your soul yet. Or it has and you are seeking release...
LOL Bob! No winter here! We're in MEXICO!! :-)

Oh. Well that explains everything then, doesn't it. Can I send you some cold rain?

No thank you!! We escaped the Pacific Northwest a year ago for never-ending summer and are loving it! (pacificsailors.com)
There are a few of us (very few, it seems) who can't drink beverages that contain alcohol. I know - sad but true. Especially since I love the flavor a thick, chewy beer.
My favorites before 1400 are coffee. Great coffee. Black, bitter coffee that bites back and has authority. The Poulsbohemian is the best place I know of to get a great Americano with that kind of flavor. I also love latte with a pastry.
After 1400, herbal teas and rich, Italian-style cocoa.
