Since they are cyclical, it really doesn't matter where we enter the cycle of the seasons. So arbitrarily, I choose Summer as the entry point (because it is my favorite):
Summer
- July
- August
- September
Fall
- October
Winter
(such as it is in Seattle anyway)- November
- December
- January
Spring
- February
Woebegone
Where every day is 10 degrees below average- March
- April
- May
- June
Unfortunately.
Dateline Thursday, April 8: Update!
There is snow on the ground on the higher hills in Seattle this morning.
It *is* April, isn't it?

Personally I'd edit that list such that November and December were added to Woebegone since we're always hoping for snow, but only get rain, and move February into Winter.
Three seasons: Summer = July 10th-ish thru October 10th-ish; Winter = December 21-ish - February; Woebegone = the other 6 months.
