Nano-tech super hydrophobia

Saw this amazing stuff over on Rhys' blog The World Encompassed:

Has any of you thousands hundreds 4 readers out there used it on a boat?  Say, on canvas or Sunbrella?

I'm interested but I would never use it on the boat until I had more information. I sent them an email so I'll let you know what they come back with. My main concern is if it's slippery and if it sheds anything slippery as it wears. Bad if that's the case. Also, I wonder if it lasts when submerged so I asked them if anyone had ever used it as a bottom coat on a sailboat.

Great idea,

Thanks for taking the proactive step, Deb!

And you are the second person to imagine using it on the boat's bottom - an idea that had not occurred to me (the other one was over on SmallBoatProjects).

I'm sure that everyone will be very curious to hear what the response is...
