Although the tsunami surge was predicted to be 3.8 feet out at Neah Bay on the northwest corner of the state, the wave had to treavel down the Strait of Juan de Fuca and then make a sharp right turn into Admiralty Inlet. Wasn't much left after that.
Shoreline shape and subsurface contour can focus the wave. I believe that this is what is responsible for the damage at Crescent City, CA and Santa Cruz, CA. In our case, the shoreline shape protected us.
Eolian is a Downeast 45 ketch. She is moored at the Cap Sante marina in Anacortes, at the far end of D Dock... she is our home at the gateway to the San Juan Islands.

My daughter, who works for King County Environmental says that they detected an 18 cm wave. I probably thought it was a ferry wake.
